This is the actual long-form sales letter I use to book my comedy hypnosis show at casinos around the US. I’ve included it to show how a good long-form sales letter can practically close a sale on it’s own, by simply stressing benefits, addressing anticipated objections, and instilling a sense of urgency. I call it my (almost) $4,000 per hour sales letter because my show runs 75 minutes, and the actual fee is $3,950. A fine point, but hell, it does the job for me.
(And by the way, if you ARE a casino entertainment booker, give me a call- I’d love to bring my show to your casino.)
Whether you’re selling to businesses or consumers, a long-form sales letter is one of the best ways to convert leads into prospects into clients.

Attn: Casino Entertainment Bookers and Player Development Executives:
LEARN HOW A LOCALS CASINO MADE AN EXTRA $300,000 IN ONE NIGHT
Dear Casino Entertainment Executive,
Are you looking for unique events to get more of your loyal VIPs in the door? Trying to find ways to get your valuable Player’s Club members to come more often and stay longer? Tired of the same old “karaoke and cover band” shows that draw fewer and fewer people in the door? Then read on, because I’ve got some terrific news!
My name is Terry Parrett; I perform a comedy hypnosis show called “EnTRANCED: The Hypno-Reality Show” at casinos around the US. It’s a fun, CLEAN, contemporary twist on the comedy hypnosis genre, and it’s a terrific way to get your VIPs in the door (and on the gaming floor!) But don’t take my word for it- here’s what some of my satisfied clients had to say:
- “The show was HILARIOUS! Our comments from our VIPs were nothing short of “amazing, funny, hilarious”, and “when can we have him back?”- Scot Latimer, Casino Host, Little River Casino, MI
- “The show was great, and the turnout as well. We appreciate it and hopefully we can work together again in the future.”- Chris Freeman, Marketing Director, Sam’s Town Casino, Tunica, MS
- “Thank you, Terry. It was a pleasure working with you. Great show, our guests loved it.”– Frank DeCarlo, Director of VIP Service, Atlantis Casino, Reno, NV
- “Terry Parrett put on a great show! He was very easy to work with; guests jumped at the chance to get up on stage. We had a great turn out for both shows- hope you have him back again!”– Stacy Daniel, Player Development Manager, Tropicana Casino, Evansville, IN
- “You put on a great show! I’ve heard a lot of great feedback! We were very pleased, and we would love to have you back again!”- Krissy Ayon, Director of Entertainment, Mesquite Gaming (CasaBlanca & Virgin River Casinos), Mesquite, NV
- “We had a great night in the casino- we were VERY happy!”- Mickey Fedell, Player Development Manager, Lady Luck Casino, Vicksburg, MS
- “It was great! You were great! Folks loved it- I would certainly entertain another show. Thanks so much!”- Keith Young, Director of Marketing, Jena Choctaw Pines Casino, Dry Prong, LA
- “We truly enjoyed your show! Thanks so much!”- Donna Komar, Player Services Manager, Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, CA
- “Great show! Good times!”- Craig Fuller, Director of Marketing, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, Hogansburg, NY
So, how did a casino with under 1500 machines pull in approximately $300K extra in just one night?
Well, to bring all those people in the door on one night, you need to create a special event. Of course, some casinos will book national headline talent, and that may do the trick. The problem is, top acts can run into the high 5 and 6 figures, and that’s certainly going to eat into your profits; not only that, but if your act isn’t as popular as he/she once was, you may end up losing money on the deal. You can also try a giveaway- people LOVE free stuff, and many casinos will give away appliances to players who rack up points on their cards. Of course, the more popular the giveaway, the longer the lines to collect the prizes; that’s time your players AREN’T spending on the floor, not to mention the ill-will your casino may engender by having people standing on line for an hour or two. So, what’s a good way to get people in that WON’T break the bank OR have your best players standing in line like they’re at the DMV?
A SPECIAL PLAYERS CLUB-ONLY EVENT
Picture this- crowds of your best players, streaming in the door, smiling, dressed up for a night out. They’re greeted at the door, and pointed to the room where they will have a delicious meal, followed by a funny, interactive show where they laugh and applaud wildly as they watch their friends, family members, even their husband or wife, ONSTAGE- singing, dancing, and doing all kinds of hilarious skits. On their way out the door, you hear them all thanking you for hosting the event, and literally BEGGING you to do it again soon.
Now picture a few days later, as top management looks at the numbers for the night, and congratulates you on one of the most successful events your casino has ever run. Sounds too good to be true? Not at all! I was there, at a mid-sized Tribal Casino in the mid-west; I saw the 600 people fill the auditorium, watched them as they ate their meal, and then performed the show that had them responding so positively. I was there as the Player Development Director told me that each of those 600 people out there was worth about $500 to the casino that night. (That was approximately $300,000 extra revenue in the door on ONE NIGHT- before expenses.) And I would LOVE to be there to do the same for your casino this autumn or winter!
SOUNDS GOOD, BUT TELL ME MORE
ABOUT YOUR SHOW
I’ve found that people love to watch shows, but sometimes, they find it even more fun to BE part of the show. That’s the reason why entertainment like Karaoke and Dueling Pianos acts are so popular. Instead of just sitting back and watching, the audience becomes part of the show. It’s a much more memorable and fun event when you are part of it!
Comedy hypnosis shows do the same thing, but even more so- volunteers are invited onstage, placed in a hypnotic trance, and then perform in funny comedic skits. You’ve probably seen a show like this at some point. HOWEVER- there is a problem with many comedy hypnosis shows- they are R or X-rated; the skits all revolve around sexual situations. While some guests enjoy that type of performance, not everyone has the same taste. I wanted to create a show that anyone, any age, from any place in the US, could enjoy without feeling uncomfortable.
That’s why I put together “EnTRANCED: The Hypno-Reality Show”. During the show, the hypnotized volunteers “become” the stars of popular reality shows- they will Dance like Stars, Sing like Idols, and even answer the questions “Are You Smarter Than a Kardashian?”. It’s funny, topical, CLEAN, and thoroughly unforgettable! Just like those 600 VIPs that night, your guests will be BEGGING you to bring this show back again and again!
OKAY, SO WHAT’S IT GOING TO COST US?
Now, I know that contrary to what some performers believe, casinos are NOT a bottomless well of cash, and budgets for entertainment are carefully planned and scrutinized. That’s why I’ve tried to make this show as affordable as possible. Your investment for this show is only $3950, all inclusive. There’s no airfare expense, no hidden costs, just $3950 complete. (I do also require a room and meals the night of the show, but that’s it.) Now you may not be able to get 600 VIPS in the door, but even if you can get a third of that, only 200 VIPs, you know what that’s worth to your casino. My fee is only a small fraction of the potential win for your casino that night, and if you promote the event properly, you may do even better! The show can be presented in just about any type of room- ballroom, showroom, lounge, even a sports bar. Before you talk yourself out of this, thinking you don’t have enough space, let’s talk.
I’M CONVINCED! WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
As of this writing, I am filling out the rest of my schedule for 2018; I’d love to bring my show to your casino for an event. Maybe you want to do a Halloween event? A special show for Mother’s Day? An event to kick off the summer? Something to get them in the door on Thanksgiving Weekend? How about a Holiday “Thank You” event for all those VIPs? Whatever the time or date, I’d love to speak with you about it and see how we can get your casino filled with smiling, happy guests. (And smiling, happy management!) Give me a call today at 631-495-1021, or email me at tparrett@hoflink.com and let’s chat. While I can perform in just about any type of venue, I’d like to answer any questions you have about your particular venue and the specifics that would make this event a big success.
I know your time is busy, and you certainly weren’t sitting at your desk waiting for this letter. It’s very easy to toss this letter in the trash and go on with your day. But if you’ve read this far, you know how important it is to give your VIPs new and exciting reasons to come back into your casino. You know how important it is to find ways to attract those hard-to-please millennials in the door. Interactive and unique entertainment like my show is a good way to get people in the door, and keep them coming back. Call me before you forget and let’s get started!
Thank you for your time- I look forward to speaking with you!
